Our vestry, with the guided help from the Diocese of Delaware, is working diligently through the Episcopal Church’s search process to search for a new rector.  Our interim rector Rev. Jamie Samilio has begun her ministry at Christ Church as of October 15th.

 

A search committee of seven members of the congregation was commissioned by Senior Warden Celeste Landon on September 10, 2023.   They have been honored with the charge of gathering information from our fellow parishioners to determine what is most important to us with respect to selecting a new Rector.  We are blessed with various resources from the Diocese, but the most important goal now is to learn what WE ALL, as a church, want as priorities in the skill sets held by the candidates we will identify.  Once information is gathered, it will be used to generate a profile that reflects what we want in a rector.   Currently, the search committee is carefully reviewing the feedback from the two workshops to create the Parish profile.

 

The search committee thanks everyone for their contributions in our “church timeline” session on October 22nd, and our “Gather, Tranform, Send” session on November 5.  Attendance was high–60 and 52 people respectively–and table discussions were lively and engaging.    We are also thankful for the written responses for those who were unable to attend.   The committee is grateful for everyone’s particpation in our process of creating a profile that will encourage clergy to consider our church as a place where God may be calling them!   It will take some time for us to consider all of the data

 we have collected, and we ask for your continued prayers as we move forward together in this process.
